Reverse description Central device comprising a crowned oval cartouche bearing the quartered royal arms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden: the upper-left quarter displays the three passant lions of Denmark on a semy of hearts, the upper-right quarter the rampant lion of Norway, and the lower portion three crowns representing Sweden, all rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The cartouche is surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with cross. The surrounding Latin legend DANNIAE NORVEGIÆ VAN · GOTH · REX runs along the periphery, separated from the rim by a continuous beaded border.
