Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate crowned royal cipher of Christian VII, composed of interlaced Gothic 'C' and '7' monograms rendered in high relief, surmounted by an ornate royal crown with pearled arches and cross finial. The cipher is elegantly interwoven in a symmetrical design typical of late Baroque Scandinavian coinage. The surrounding circular legend reads in Latin, divided by pellet stops, beginning at upper right and running clockwise. The flat field provides a plain background that accentuates the bold relief of the royal monogram.
