Reverse description The crowned royal cypher of Christian V (C5) is displayed prominently above the crowned monogram of the Danish East India Company (D.O.C. — Dansk Østindisk Kompagni), the two devices united in a vertical arrangement. Crossed palm branches frame the composition on either side, their stems tied at the base with a knot below which the mint master's initials appear. The date 1672 is divided symmetrically at the foot of the royal cypher, flanking the numeral on either side.
