(Translation: Christian V, by the Grace of God, King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths.)
Reverse description The crowned Norwegian lion rampant, holding a halbert-axe and facing left, is depicted within a crowned oval baroque cartouche shield superimposed upon a cross. Two concentric Latin legends encircle the central device: the outer legend along the rim records the king's additional titles, while the inner legend bears the royal motto. The mintmaster's initials (F G) and the date (1674) are divided on either side of the shield. A beaded inner border frames the entire reverse design.
