| Reverse description | Benedetto Pistrucci's celebrated design of St. George, depicted as a helmeted warrior on horseback, thrusting his broken lance downward to slay the writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The horse rears dynamically to the right, with the knight's cloak billowing behind him. The exergue below the ground line bears the date, flanked by the mintmark to the left and Pistrucci's initials 'B.P.' to the right. The entire composition is contained within a beaded border with fully reeded edge visible. |
