Obverse description Facing enthroned effigy of Henry VIII depicted in full royal regalia, seated upon an elaborate Gothic throne with architectural canopy, flanked by crowned heraldic beasts atop the throne pillars. The king holds an orb in his left hand and a sceptre in his right, wearing robes and an arched imperial crown. A double-arched tressure frames the central design. The Latin legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border, preceded by the Bristol mint mark (WS).
