Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the beard and facial features, as designed by Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The truncation of the bust is cleanly cut at the shoulder. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy along the periphery, interrupted only by the lower field, and is separated from the coin's dentillated border by a raised rim. The portrait conveys the restrained neoclassical style characteristic of MacKennal's sovereign coinage designs.
