| Obverse description | Gothic-style effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in the manner of William Wyon's celebrated Gothic portrait, with the Queen depicted wearing a crown and royal robes. The legend 'ELIZABETH DEI GRATIA' arcs around the upper field, with 'BRITANNIAR REG F D' completing the inscription. The denomination 'SOVEREIGN' appears to the left of the effigy and the date '2021' to the right, with 'ALDERNEY' and 'C.I.' also present in the legend. The overall design is deliberately modelled on the Gothic aesthetic of Victorian coinage. |
