Reverse description The classic Pistrucci design of St. George on horseback, helmeted and wearing a billowing cloak with a streaming ribbon from his helmet, driving his sword into the body of a vanquished dragon; the broken lance lies on the ground to the lower left. The composition is executed in high, deeply modelled relief characteristic of Pistrucci's original early nineteenth-century rendering. The exergue contains the date '1953' and Pistrucci's engraver's initials 'B.P.', separated by the ground line.
