| Reverse description | The Royal Arms, quarterly displaying the leopards of England and the fleurs-de-lis of France, are borne upon a large Tudor rose whose elaborately stylised petals radiate dynamically across the entire field, creating a bold and decorative composition typical of Elizabethan hammered gold coinage. A crowned lion and a dragon, serving as supporters, flank the shield on either side. The Latin legend, separated by pellet stops, encircles the design within a beaded border, referencing the biblical verse from Psalm 118. |
