Reverse description Central device comprising the Hanoverian Royal Arms of George IV, presented as a quartered shield bearing the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure), Ireland (a harp), and Hanover (a complex escutcheon incorporating the arms of Brunswick, Luneburg, and Westphalia surmounted by the Crown of Charlemagne), all enclosed within an ornate cartouche with scrollwork supporters. The shield is surmounted by the Imperial State Crown rendered in high relief. The circumferential Latin legend ARMA GEORGII IV BRITANNIARUM REGIS is disposed to the left and right of the central device, divided by the crowned arms, with a beaded inner border framing the composition.
