| Reverse description | Central heraldic composition featuring a crowned royal cypher CR III flanked by two rampant lions guardant, all set within an ornate cartouche surmounted by the three-legged triskelion of the Isle of Man. The Roman numeral date MMXXIII is inscribed above the central shield within the cartouche. Elaborate acanthus and foliate scrollwork surrounds the shield and supporters. The inscription SILVER 999 appears in the lower field beneath the composition, denoting the fineness of the coin. The coronation of Charles III on 6 May 2023 was the first such ceremony in seventy years, and the Isle of Man — as a Crown dependency — marked it with a predictable flurry of commemorative issues across multiple metals and denominations. The silver sovereign occupies an awkward niche in that output: technically legal tender on the island, practically destined for the secondary collector market within days of release.
