Reverse description The reverse displays the crowned quartered royal arms of Spain in high relief, incorporating the castles of Castile, lions of León, chains of Navarre, and the pomegranate of Granada, with a central escutcheon bearing the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbons. The shield is surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with cross finial. The circumferential legend ARCHID · AVST · DVX · BVRG · C · FLAND · ZC, with the date 17 00 divided on either side of the shield at the base, encircles the design in Latin capitals separated by ornamental stops. A beaded or milled border frames the entire composition.
