Obverse description Veiled and draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair beneath a widow's veil. The effigy exhibits a mature, authoritative portrait characteristic of the post-1765 mourning coinage style. A beaded inner border frames the design. The circumferential Latin legend is divided by pellets and runs continuously around the obverse field.

Reverse description A crowned oval cartouche bearing the quartered arms of Austria and Burgundy, superimposed upon a Burgundian cross with flint-steels and sparks in the angles. The mint mark appears below the central shield, and the date is divided by the lower portion of the legend. A beaded inner border encircles the composition, with the Latin legend running along the periphery.
