| Obverse description | Central device displays the crowned royal cipher of Christian IV: a large letter C encircling the numeral 4, both elements rendered in bold relief characteristic of hammered coinage. The cipher is surmounted by a royal crown with prominent arched elements and pellet ornaments. A rope or beaded inner border frames the central device, while the surrounding circular legend reads CHRISTIANUS·4·D·G in Latin letters distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
