| Additional information |
Ulak tartysh — the Central Asian equestrian sport in which riders compete to carry a headless goat carcass to a goal — has been played across the steppe for centuries, predating any formal codification. Kyrgyzstan elevated it to a matter of national cultural policy in the post-Soviet period, and it was inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2017, the year before this coin was issued. The timing was deliberate.
