| Obverse description | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Theodosius I facing right, adorned with a pearl diadem and elaborate beaded neck torque, the imperial paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The emperor's hair is rendered in fine parallel strands with a row of pearls along the diadem. The encircling Latin legend reads D N THEODO – SIVS P F AVG, distributed around the obverse field in crisp, evenly spaced lettering. The portrait exhibits the refined late Roman engraving style characteristic of the Milanese mint, with strong facial modeling and high relief. |

| Reverse description | The nimbate emperor Theodosius I is depicted on horseback, advancing to the right with his right hand raised in a gesture of salutation or acclamation, conveying the theme of imperial adventus. The horse is rendered in a stately, prancing pose. A surrounding Latin legend reads FELIX ADVEN-TVS AVG N, celebrating the auspicious arrival of the emperor. The mintmark COM appears in the exergue, identifying the piece as a product of the comitatus or Milan mint. The overall composition reflects the ceremonial grandeur and propagandistic intent typical of late Roman imperial donative coinage. |
