Reverse description Full-length frontal effigy of Christ standing in mandorla-like presentation, nimbed and robed in flowing garments, with arms slightly extended holding a book of the Gospels. The figure is rendered in the Byzantine-influenced Venetian style characteristic of the period. The surrounding legend, divided across the field, reads DEFENS. - NOSTER, invoking Christ as protector. Beaded inner border frames the central device. The die work is typical of late Venetian billon coinage, with moderate relief and irregular flan.
