Obverse description Draped bust of Carlo II (Charles II Gonzaga-Nevers), Duke of Mantua and Montferrat, facing right, rendered in low relief in the hammered style typical of mid-17th century Italian minor coinage. The portrait is set within a circular field with the abbreviated Latin legend disposed around the periphery. The ducal effigy displays period costume with a visible drapery treatment at the shoulder.
