Reverse description The winged lion of Saint Mark, symbol of the Serenissima, depicted passant or in a heraldic posture within a plain circular border, its wings raised and mane rendered with fine engraved lines. The lion faces left with its body filling the inner field of the coin, consistent with the established reverse type of Venetian soldini of this period. Four small pellets or ornamental stops are visible at the cardinal points of the surrounding circle. The flan is irregular, typical of hammered coinage, and the relief is bold relative to the small module of the piece.
