Obverse description Central field bearing the crowned heraldic shield of Saluzzo, surmounted by an imperial eagle displayed with wings spread, the upper half of the bird emerging above the crown and facing sinister. The shield carries the dynastic arms of the Marquises of Saluzzo. A Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, identifying the issuing authority.

Reverse description A prominent cross fleury occupies the central field, its four terminals each terminating in stylized fleur-de-lis ornaments, characteristic of the late medieval hammered coinage of northern Italian states. The cross is bold and well-centred within a beaded inner border. A Latin devotional legend invoking Saint Constantius, patron of Saluzzo, encircles the design.
