| Reverse description | A patée cross with splayed, decorated terminals occupies the central field, set within a beaded inner circle. The arms of the cross divide the field into four quarters. The surrounding legend MARCHIO MVSSI CO LEVCI runs clockwise around the periphery, identifying Gian Giacomo de' Medici as Marquis of Musso and Count of Lecco. The execution is typical of hammered Italian billon coinage of the early sixteenth century, with bold but slightly irregular strike. |
