| Obverse description | Bare head of Louis XVI facing left, hair dressed and tied with a ribbon at the nape, engraved in the neoclassical style by Pierre-Benjamin Duvivier. The royal effigy is rendered with fine portraiture detail, the truncation of the bust appearing at the lower edge of the field. The mint mark appears below the truncation. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the obverse. |
