Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Luxembourg — a barry of ten argent and azure charged with a lion rampant — surmounted by an imperial crown with cross finial. The shield occupies most of the field, with the rampant lion clearly rendered over the horizontal barry stripes. A circular legend in Latin characters surrounds the arms, reading from upper right and terminating at lower left, with a six-pointed star separating the beginning and end of the inscription. The rim is bordered by an outer ring of raised beads forming the dentilation.

Reverse description The reverse bears an inscription arranged in four horizontal lines across the field, giving the denomination and date. The text reads: '1 / SOL / 1790 / H', where 'H' is the mint mark for the Günzburg Mint. Each line is separated by horizontal rule dividers rendered as single strokes. The rim is bordered by an outer ring of raised beads forming the dentilation.
