Obverse description Central field displays a rectangular shield bearing a rampant lion to sinister, surmounted by an open crown with visible arches and fleurons. The initials F and II flank the shield to the left and right respectively, denoting Emperor Francis II of Austria as sovereign of the Austrian Netherlands. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed or milled inner border. The overall style is characteristic of hastily produced emergency coinage, with somewhat crude die workmanship and uneven relief.

Reverse description The reverse displays the denomination numeral 1 at the top of the field, followed by the large inscription SOL in the center, and the date 1795 beneath, all arranged in three horizontal lines occupying most of the field. A small Roman numeral I appears at the bottom, likely indicating a die or emission number. The legends are bold and deeply incuse in character, consistent with cast emergency issue production. The whole is surrounded by a toothed milled border mirroring that of the obverse.
