Obverse description The national coat of arms of Uzbekistan occupies the central field, depicting a rising sun over mountains with a river valley, flanked by cotton bolls on the left and wheat ears on the right, tied with ribbons in the national colours. A Humo bird is displayed at the apex of the shield. Twelve five-pointed stars arranged in an arc above the arms represent the twelve provinces of Uzbekistan. The Cyrillic legend ЎЗБЕКИСТОН РЕСПУБЛИКАСИ (Republic of Uzbekistan) curves along the upper and lateral periphery of the coin.

Reverse description The large numeral '1' is prominently displayed in the upper central field, with the Cyrillic denomination legend СЎМ (Soʻm) inscribed beneath it in bold characters. A decorative wreath composed of two symmetrical cotton branches, bearing open cotton bolls and leaves, frames the denomination on either side and converges at the base of the design. The four-digit date appears in the lower exergue below the wreath. A fine beaded border runs along the inner rim of the coin.
