| Obverse description | Central crowned oval shield with convex notched indentations at the lateral sides, characteristic of the Danish royal arms. Spike-ended cross arms radiate from the sides of the shield at the notches in most sub-types, with the exception of one variant which lacks these cross arms. A Latin legend encircles the shield in the field. |
