Obverse description Central field features a large crowned oval shield bearing the quartered Danish coat of arms, superimposed over a cross with forked (pattée) arms that divide the surrounding legend into four segments. The royal title legend in Latin reads outward from each cross arm, framing the shield in the four quadrants. The crowned shield is rendered in a bold early 17th-century style characteristic of Christian IV's coinage. The overall design is compact and heraldic in character, with the cross providing both structural symmetry and a religious motif.
