| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Danish coat of arms — an oval shield bearing three passant lions above three hearts — enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The royal crown surmounts the shield at top center. The surrounding outer legend reads CHRISTIANVS IIII D G DA in Latin characters, identifying the issuer as Christian IV, King of Denmark by the grace of God. The entire design is contained within a beaded border typical of early 17th-century hammered coinage. The relief is low and the strike characteristic of hand-hammered production, with slight irregularity to the flan. |
