Obverse description Central field features the crowned royal cypher of Christian V, composed of an interlaced cursive 'C5' monogram surmounted by a large arched royal crown. The monogram is rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The legend 'D G REX DAN NOR V G' runs around the periphery, abbreviated for 'Dei Gratia Rex Daniae Norwegiae Vandalorum Gothorumque'. The design is simple and typical of late 17th-century Danish minor coinage.
