Obverse description A fully armored knight stands in three-quarter view to the right, his right hand grasping a sword and his left hand resting on a crowned heraldic shield bearing the arms of West Friesland, placed at his feet. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail on the armor. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, and the Latin legend runs along the outer periphery of the coin.
