| Obverse description | Central field bears the interlaced monogram of King Gundobad (GB cipher), prominently displayed within the coin's center. The surrounding circular legend reads PAX ET ABVNDANTIA GVB, interrupted by a cross and a pellet or symbol on the left side, all rendered in late Roman epigraphic style. The die work is characteristic of early medieval Burgundian coinage, with an irregularly shaped flan typical of hammered silver production. The lettering is bold and slightly uneven, consistent with workshop practice of the period. |
