Reverse description The central device features a merino ram's head in bold high relief, facing left, with large curling horns rendered in considerable detail, a design attributed to George Kruger Gray symbolising Australia's wool industry. Flanking the ram's head at the mid-field are two six-pointed stars. The legend AUSTRALIA arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while SHILLING and the date 1946 appear along the lower arc, separated by a raised dot. A beaded inner border encloses the entire composition.
