| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupies the central field. A small dot appears below the truncation of the bust. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT. OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:, with the engraver's initials B.M. positioned at the lower right of the bust. The portrait is rendered in fine relief, characteristic of MacKennal's Royal Mint coinage style. |
