Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the robes and Imperial State Crown. The truncated bust, engraved by Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal, depicts the King in military dress with a beaded inner border surrounding the design. The circular Latin legend reads GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT: OMN: REX F.D.IND:IMP:, distributed around the periphery of the field.
