Obverse description Left-facing laureate and crowned effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupying the central field with the designer's initials B.M. appearing as a dot-flanked signature below the truncation. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait, separated from the effigy by a beaded inner border. The bust is draped and presents the monarch in the style standardised for British Commonwealth coinage of the period.
