| Obverse description | First laureate and draped bust of King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling wig descending to the truncation. The effigy displays the king's characteristic strong profile with pronounced nose and chin, his shoulders draped in classical robes. A laurel wreath crowns the head, consistent with the first bust portrait type engraved by John Croker. The Latin legend encircles the bust, separated by pellet stops, reading continuously around the coin field. |
