Reverse description Central design features a small oval garnished royal shield of arms, quartered with the arms of France (fleurs-de-lis) and England (passant guardant lions), flanked by the royal monogram 'E R' (Edwardus Rex) in Gothic lettering to either side of the shield, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield is lightly ornamented with scrollwork or foliate garnishing typical of mid-Tudor heraldic design. The surrounding circumscription legend, abbreviating the king's full royal titles, runs clockwise within the outer beaded border.
