Obverse description The arms of the Town and County of Poole occupy the central field, depicted on a heraldic shield divided into two quarters: the upper chief bears three woolsacks (or bears), and the lower portion features a dolphin naiant on a barry field. The shield is flanked on either side by crossed laurel sprigs, whose stems meet below the escutcheon. A circular legend reading TOWN AND COUNTY OF POOLE TOKEN runs around the periphery, while the date 1811 appears in the exergue beneath the shield.
