Obverse description The obverse displays the Shi'a kalima in bold Arabic script arranged in multiple registers across the field, reading 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah, Ali wali Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, Ali is the Friend of God). The inscription is rendered in the characteristic Safavid nastaʿliq-influenced calligraphic style typical of Shah Ismail I's early coinage. The legends fill the flan to its edges, with no figural imagery, consistent with Islamic numismatic tradition. The coin exhibits the irregular flan and characteristic flat areas typical of hammered silver production. A decorative cartouche or border element is partially visible at the lower margin of the die.
