Obverse description A spearhead rendered in relief at center, oriented point upward, flanked by a single pellet in the left field and a single pellet in the right field, the two pellets serving as the value marks denoting the sextans denomination. The surface is irregularly cast, with a coarse granular texture characteristic of Central Italian aes grave production.

Reverse description A trident displayed upright at center, with three tines visible and the shaft extending downward, flanked by a single pellet to the left and a single pellet to the right, again indicating the sextans value. The design is boldly cast in high relief within a roughly circular flan, consistent with the aes grave coinage tradition of third-century BC Central Italy.
