Reverse description The reverse displays the Imperial Government Seal of Japan (太政官印), comprising a bold stylised paulownia (kiri) crest rendered in high relief at the centre of the field. The mon features three paulownia flower clusters arranged in the traditional 5-7-5 blossom pattern atop broad lobed leaves, with the central stem rising tallest. Below the foliage, a prominent seven-petalled chrysanthemum-like flower is depicted in full bloom. The design occupies nearly the entire field and is enclosed by a finely toothed beaded border identical to the obverse.
