Obverse description Central device depicts a stylized chrysanthemum flower, the Imperial mon of the Japanese Emperor, rendered in low relief against a plain field. The denomination inscription appears above the chrysanthemum device, with the characters for '1 Sen' (一錢) positioned in the upper field. The design is struck in white porcelain, giving the surfaces a matte, ceramic texture. A raised rim encircles the entire obverse.
