The figure is rendered dynamically in the classical tradition, symbolizing Roman imperial triumph. The exergue bears the mint mark COMOB, denoting gold of the highest purity struck at Constantinople (used as a standard reference even for Rome-struck issues), while the surrounding field carries the legend VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM and the vow inscription VOTVMLX.
