Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Hildesheim, divided horizontally into three sections with diagonal bar hatching in the upper portion, a plain central band, and a lower section also featuring hatching, with a small ornamental device at the base of the shield. The shield is rendered in the flat, angular Gothic style typical of 15th-century North German hammered coinage. The circumferential Latin legend EPISCOPVS HILDESEMENSIS runs between the inner beaded border and the outer irregular rim.
