Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the crowned Pomeranian griffin rampant to left, holding an upraised sword in its right claw and displaying spread wings. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading CAROL · D · G · REX · S (Carolus Dei Gratia Rex Sueciae), with stops separating the abbreviated titles. The overall style is characteristic of late 17th-century north German hammered coinage.
