| Obverse description | Central device depicting the Hamburg castle (Hammaburg), rendered as a three-towered fortified gate with an arched portal and two circular windows flanking the gateway, all set upon a rusticated masonry wall. The towers are surmounted by small spherical finials. Below the castle, in the lower field, the mint master's initials H·S·K· (Hans Schierven Knoph) are inscribed in Roman lettering. The design is unframed, occupying the full coin field. |
