Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborately rendered arms of the Doge of Venice, displaying a crowned ornamental shield surmounted by a ducal bonnet and flanked by acanthus leaf scrollwork in high relief. The heraldic composition is executed in the robust late-Renaissance hammered style characteristic of the Venetian mint. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the circumferential Latin legend. The mintmaster's initials 'ZB' appear in the lower exergue beneath a horizontal baseline. The peripheral legend reads PASCALIS CICONIA DVX VENE, identifying Pasquale Cicogna as Doge of Venice.
