| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Franz I facing right, rendered in high relief with fine classical detail. The emperor's hair is bound with a laurel wreath, with ribbon ties visible at the nape. The truncation is bare and sharply defined. The encircling legend reads FRANCISCVS I • D • G • AUSTRIAE IMPERATOR, with the mint letter A positioned at the base of the bust below the truncation. A fine toothed border frames the entire field. |

The eagle's dexter talon grasps a sword and the sinister talon an orb. On the breast, a large quartered shield bearing the composite arms of the Habsburg dominions is superimposed. The circular legend, interrupted at top by the central crown, reads HVN • BOH • LOMB • ET VEN • GAL • LOD • IL • REX • A • A •, with the date 1824 incorporated into the upper legend. A finely toothed border surrounds the design. |
