Reverse description A bold cross pattée with fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm occupies the central field, with a single fleur-de-lis prominently displayed at the top of the cross. The initials F and M appear alternately in the four angles formed by the cross arms, serving as the marquis's personal monogram. The surrounding circumferential Latin legend, drawn from a Messianic acclamation, reads XPS REX VENIT IN PACE F M F M, referencing the entry of Christ the King in peace. The entire design is executed in the robust, hand-struck style characteristic of Italian Renaissance hammered coinage.
